Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, has shared that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. The 46-year-old revealed the news in a video message to fans.
Arnold said he went to hospital after feeling unwell for several weeks. Doctors diagnosed him with clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that has spread to his lung. Because the cancer has metastasized, it is considered stage 4.
Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, Arnold said he is not afraid and is determined to fight the disease. He spoke openly about relying on his faith and asked fans to keep him in their prayers. He said he believes this battle is not the end of his story.
As a result of his illness, the band has cancelled its planned summer tour. Arnold apologized to fans for the cancellation and thanked them for their long-standing support and understanding during this difficult time.
Clear cell renal cancer is the most common type of kidney cancer and can be especially dangerous when diagnosed at an advanced stage. Arnold said the road ahead will be challenging, but he remains hopeful and focused on treatment and recovery.
