A tragic MRI accident claimed the life of 61-year-old Keith McAllister on July 16, 2025, in Long Island, New York. McAllister was pulled into the powerful magnetic field of the MRI machine while assisting his wife, Adrienne Jones-McAllister, after her knee scan.
McAllister was wearing a heavy metal chain, which was yanked by the machine’s magnet. “He went limp in my arms,” Adrienne said. “I was shouting, ‘Turn off the machine! Call 911!’ but it was too late.” Emergency responders struggled for nearly an hour to remove him from the machine. He suffered multiple heart attacks and died the following day.
Adrienne’s daughter, Samantha Bodden, later clarified online, “My mother was the patient. He was brought in by the technician to help her off the table. She had to witness her husband being strangled.”
The family is now raising funds through GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses. This heartbreaking incident has shocked many, highlighting the dangers of metallic objects near MRI machines. Our condolences go out to McAllister’s loved ones.
