Jessica McLaughlin, 24, went to work at a 7-Eleven in Hollywood on June 24, expecting a normal shift. Instead, she was allegedly attacked by a female manager who pulled her hair and sat on her, preventing her from breathing. “She held her down, sat on top of her, and didn’t let her breathe,” said her brother Sean.
After coworkers intervened and gave CPR, Jessica briefly got free but collapsed. The manager allegedly ran to delete security footage and then fled on a bicycle. Jessica was found unconscious when police arrived and was placed on life support at the hospital.

Jessica remained on machines for days while her family prayed by her side. “The damage from the lack of oxygen was too much,” Sean wrote. “We had to make the impossible decision to let her go.”
The LAPD confirmed a physical altercation occurred and is now conducting a homicide investigation. 7-Eleven said the manager has been fired and they are cooperating fully with authorities.
