Dawn O’Porter, TV presenter and author, has revealed she struggles financially—despite being married to Hollywood actor Chris O’Dowd. “I work pay cheque to pay cheque. I’m always broke. My card got declined last week,” she told MailOnline.

The 46-year-old mum of two said her career stalled after the family moved back to London from Los Angeles. Although her husband starred in major films like Bridesmaids and Thor: The Dark World, Dawn shared, “I’ve never seen myself as a celebrity… My job is writing, with the occasional little ad on Instagram to pay the rent.”

Dawn once had her own show on Channel 4 and wrote a popular column, but says opportunities faded. “I was cool… then my career declined. They looked at me like I wasn’t interesting anymore,” she said.

She now focuses on writing, with past books like The Cows making the Sunday Times Best Sellers List. Still, Dawn says money remains tight: “Being married to a famous actor doesn’t mean financial security for me.”
