A community south of Brisbane is in shock after a father and his four-year-old son were killed in a road tragedy. The pair were struck by a ute on Green Road, Regents Park, late Sunday morning.
Queensland Police confirmed the 33-year-old man and the young boy, who were known to each other, died at the scene. Nearby, the boy’s small bike lay shattered on the sidewalk — a heartbreaking image of what happened. “It’s every family’s worst nightmare,” one witness said.

The driver, a 41-year-old man from Regents Park, was taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation. No charges have yet been laid, and the Forensic Crash Unit continues to examine the cause.
The road remains closed as officers gather evidence and appeal for anyone with information or footage to come forward. This tragedy is a painful reminder of how quickly lives can change. How do we make our roads safer for children and families?
