A quiet night turned deadly in Brooklyn when gunmen opened fire inside a busy restaurant. The attack happened just after 3 a.m. on Sunday at the Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights.
Police confirmed three men, aged 27, 35, and one of unknown age, were killed. Eight more victims were rushed to local hospitals with injuries. “This is a terrible tragedy,” said NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. “Thankfully, incidents like this remain an anomaly.”

Investigators found 36 shell casings at the scene and another firearm nearby. Surveillance video showed three men sprinting from the restaurant moments after the shooting. No arrests have been made so far.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed sympathy, writing: “Another horrific mass shooting… My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones.”
Brooklyn is mourning yet another senseless act of violence. How do we protect our communities while ensuring tragedies like this never happen again?
