A British woman has sparked debate after revealing she left the UK because of “too many foreigners.”
She moved to Benidorm, Spain — a city already popular with British expats. In fact, nearly 900,000 Brits visited last year, and about 5% of Benidorm’s residents are from the UK. The city is famous for its full English breakfasts, lively karaoke bars, and holiday nightlife.
Speaking to GB News, she said: “We lost our rights, freedom of speech went! I had enough. Britain lost the plot 20 years ago.”

But many online were quick to point out the irony. One person wrote: “There are too many foreigners in the UK, so she moved to Spain and became one.” Another added: “They use Spanish housing and health services while complaining about immigrants back home.”
The story highlights growing tensions about migration — and the contradictions people face when leaving one country to settle in another.
👉 Do you think moving abroad for this reason makes sense, or is it pure irony?
