A peaceful school Mass in Minneapolis turned into tragedy when a gunman opened fire inside Annunciation Catholic Church. Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed. Seventeen others were wounded, including 14 children.
Police identified the shooter as Robin Westman, a local in their early 20s, who later died at the scene. Authorities discovered disturbing online posts, videos, and a handwritten manifesto filled with regret, depression, and anger. “I am not well. I am a sad person haunted by these thoughts,” Westman wrote.
Children inside the church described terrifying moments. Fifth-grader Weston Halse said, “My friend Victor saved me by laying on top of me, but he got hit.” Parents rushed to the scene in panic, some finding their children hiding in fear.
