A Florida woman’s life changed forever after a cosmetic procedure went terribly wrong. Daidys Pena Garces, 50, is now unable to walk, talk, or feed herself following a Brazilian butt lift in Miami.
Her husband, Jorge Fernandez, says she suffered a pulmonary embolism just weeks after the surgery, leaving her with severe brain damage. “She was my first love,” he shared. “Now she will never talk, walk, or eat by herself.”

The lawsuit claims Garces was not told the surgeon, Dr. Fermin Morales, was not board-certified in plastic surgery. Her attorney stated, “The public has no idea they are not being cared for by a certified surgeon. That’s just wrong.”
The family says she also wasn’t properly informed of the risks because documents were only in English, not her first language, Spanish. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help with her growing medical bills.

This heartbreaking case raises urgent questions about cosmetic surgery safety. Should stricter laws protect patients from unqualified doctors?
