Hope Lancaster Colquhoun lost nine stone using the weight loss jab Mounjaro, but the victory came with heartbreak. The 42-year-old mom from Tyne and Wear went from a size 22 to a size 8 in just one year. But soon after, she noticed her teeth cracking and breaking.

“I looked in the mirror and was horrified — several of my teeth had snapped in half,” she said. A dentist confirmed at least seven teeth had to be pulled out immediately. Hope, who had always been proud of her natural smile, was devastated.

Doctors believe the rapid weight loss and side effects of Mounjaro may have contributed. Experts warn that GLP-1 drugs, like Mounjaro and Wegovy, can cause acid reflux and dry mouth, both linked to tooth decay. “Reports of ‘Ozempic teeth’ are increasingly being seen in our clinic,” said Dr. Edward Li.

While these jabs can help people lose weight, they may also harm dental health. Hope now wants others to know the risks.
