Vice President JD Vance has called on Americans to report anyone “celebrating” Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck during a speech at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Vance, a close friend of Kirk, made the plea while guest-hosting The Charlie Kirk Show. “When you see someone celebrating Charlie’s murder, call them out. And hell, call their employer,” he said. He added, “We don’t believe in political violence, but there is no civility in celebrating assassination.”

Critics called the move “nationwide cancel culture” and accused Vance of hypocrisy, saying conservatives usually oppose such tactics. Supporters argued free speech “doesn’t mean freedom from consequences.”

Several companies, including Microsoft and Delta, have already fired workers over offensive comments about Kirk’s death. Kirk’s funeral will be held in Arizona on Sunday, with President Trump and Vance expected to attend.
