Hollywood legend Robert Redford has passed away at his mountain home in Utah. The Oscar-winning actor and director was 89. His death, announced Tuesday, “marks the end of an era,” said his representative.

Redford starred in timeless classics like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President’s Men, and Out of Africa. “He brought elegance and quiet power to every role,” one fan shared online. He later became an acclaimed director, winning Best Picture and Best Director for Ordinary People.

Beyond acting, Redford shaped cinema by founding the Sundance Institute and turning the Sundance Film Festival into a global stage for independent film. His dedication to storytelling inspired generations of filmmakers.
