Jimmy Kimmel’s sudden suspension has sparked outrage across Hollywood. ABC announced his late-night show is off-air “for the foreseeable future” after his comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Kimmel accused the “MAGA gang” of politicizing Kirk’s murder during his Monday monologue. He suggested suspected shooter Tyler Robinson might share conservative views — despite investigators calling him far-left. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr later warned of possible action against Kimmel and ABC, calling the remarks “some of the sickest conduct possible.”
Stars quickly came to Kimmel’s defense. Ben Stiller posted, “This isn’t right.” Alison Brie called the suspension “very scary.” Jamie Lee Curtis shared Kimmel’s quote: “I don’t think anybody should be canceled.” Christie Brinkley urged fans to “protect our First Amendment rights.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom called the move “coordinated and dangerous.” Comedian Wanda Sykes added, “Trump ended freedom of speech within his first year.”
