Convicted murderer Richard Djerf has written a chilling message as he awaits his execution in Arizona next month. Djerf pleaded guilty to killing Albert Luna Sr., his wife Patricia, and their children Rochelle, 18, and Damien, 5, in 1993.
Prosecutors say Djerf blamed Albert Luna Jr. for stealing from his apartment and plotted revenge. He attacked the family, sexually assaulted Rochelle, and then murdered them all in a brutal rampage.

In a handwritten note, Djerf wrote: “If I can’t find reason to spare my life, what reason would anyone else have? I hope my death brings some measure of peace.” He also said Albert Jr. “was never at fault.”
Djerf will be executed by lethal injection on October 17, nearly 30 years after his death sentence. Arizona currently has 108 inmates on death row.

Do you think Djerf’s final words bring closure — or open old wounds for the victims’ family?
