Priscilla Presley has shared an emotional account of helping her son Navarone Garibaldi overcome drug addiction — and the pain of losing her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
In a candid interview with People, Priscilla recalled staying by Navarone’s side for five nights as he endured agonizing withdrawal. “He’d cry, ‘Mom, I’m hurting,’ and I’d rub his legs. There was nothing else I could do,” she said. On the fifth day, she finally felt hope: “We made it. I never thought it was going to happen.”
But the relief of saving her son could not erase the heartbreak of losing Lisa Marie in 2023. Priscilla recounted the devastating moment she was told Lisa wouldn’t survive. “Take her off the machine, Doctor,” she whispered, describing how everything went dark.
Despite online criticism, Priscilla insists she and Lisa were “very close” and says she now finds joy watching her granddaughter Riley Keough thrive as a mother.
Do you think Priscilla’s story can help reduce the stigma around addiction and loss?
