Chris Hemsworth, known for playing Thor, is scaling back his acting due to a concerning health discovery. During his docuseries Limitless, he learned he’s at high risk for Alzheimer’s due to his genetic makeup. Hemsworth shared, “Most of us… avoid speaking about death… the reality sinks in. Your own mortality.” His grandfather’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis hits close to home.
Despite not retiring, he’ll be more selective with roles. He explained, “It’s a more curated approach.” Hemsworth, with upcoming projects like another Avengers sequel, aims to spend more time with family. He realized the toll of missing milestones while working. “Before you know it, they’re 18 and they’ve moved out of the house, and I missed the window.”
Now, after fulfilling prior commitments, he plans a break: “I’m going home… simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife.” Hemsworth’s decision highlights the importance of balancing career and family amidst health concerns.
