Comedian Katherine Ryan has opened up about how she and husband Bobby Kootstra keep their marriage alive. The 42-year-old star admitted parenting often makes intimacy difficult, but she believes every couple should enjoy three “different kinds” of sex.

“When our kids were little, we only managed it twice a month,” she said. “Now it’s five or six times.” Ryan explained her philosophy: scheduled sex to make time, spontaneous sex to keep passion, and quickies for fun. “Sometimes you just say, ‘Thank God we did that,’” she joked.
Her candid advice came during an interview with Jamie Laing, who is expecting his first child. Many listeners praised her honesty, with one saying, “I love the honesty in this!” Another added, “Spontaneity is the only way.”
Ryan, a mother of three with another baby on the way, reminded couples that love and connection can survive life’s busiest seasons. Her openness struck a chord online and sparked fresh conversations about intimacy after kids.
