Keanu Reeves revealed in an interview that he and Winona Ryder might be “accidentally married” for 30 years. Despite never officially tying the knot, they worked together on several films and shared admiration for each other.
Their supposed marriage stems from a scene in the 1992 movie “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” where they filmed a wedding with real priests. Francis Ford Coppola, the film’s director, confirmed this, leading them to believe they might be married in real life.
“We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests,” Reeves said. “Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So, I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.” Ryder added, “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life.”
This story has amused fans, but it’s not legally binding. Despite this playful anecdote, Reeves and Ryder continue their professional relationship and support each other’s careers.
