Expert reveals ‘military sleep method’ that helps you fall asleep in just two minutes

If you struggle to fall asleep, the military sleep method might be the simple trick you need. Designed to help soldiers rest in tough conditions, this method combines deep breathing, muscle relaxation, and visualization — and can work in as little as two minutes.

“People want quick, effective ways to fall asleep, which is why this technique is gaining popularity,” said Dr. Alaina Tiani from the Cleveland Clinic. The key is to slowly relax each muscle, from your head to your toes, while focusing on calm breathing. Then, clear your mind by picturing peaceful scenes, like floating on a quiet lake, or repeating the phrase “Don’t think” for 10 seconds.

Experts also stress the importance of good sleep hygiene. “Avoid screens before bed — blue light disrupts melatonin,” said sleep specialist Adeel ul-Haq. He also recommends daily exercise, a balanced diet, and keeping a regular bedtime.

Good sleep isn’t about perfection — it’s about peace. With a little practice, this two-minute method could finally help you drift off with ease.
