Fans across the world are grieving the sudden loss of legendary bodybuilder and actor Varinder Singh Ghuman, who has died at just 42. Reports say he suffered a heart attack while being treated for a shoulder injury at a hospital in India.
Doctors at Fortis Escorts Hospital said, “Despite our best efforts, he could not be revived.” Ghuman had no known health problems and was undergoing routine treatment when tragedy struck.

Born in Gurdaspur, India, Ghuman made history as one of the world’s first vegetarian professional bodybuilders. He won Mr. India 2009, placed second at Mr. Asia, and even worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger to promote fitness products. He later appeared in films, most recently in Tiger 3 as Shakeel.
His death adds to a worrying trend in the bodybuilding world. Several athletes have died recently from heart attacks and other causes. As one fan wrote, “He inspired us to believe strength comes from discipline and kindness.”

Ghuman’s legacy will live on — a reminder to treasure health over glory.
