It was supposed to be a quiet evening journey — until screams shattered the calm.

Passengers on a London-bound train from Doncaster were left running for their lives after two men armed with knives launched a shocking attack, leaving nine people fighting for survival. Witnesses say the chaos lasted nearly 15 minutes before police stormed the train at Huntingdon Station.

Taxi driver Viorel Turturica, who was waiting outside, recalled the moment police confronted one of the suspects. “He ran past my car holding a huge kitchen knife,” he said. “Seconds later, officers Tasered him — and I heard him shouting, ‘Kill me, kill me, kill me!’”

Authorities confirmed both suspects — British nationals in their 30s — are in custody. While counterterrorism police initially assisted, officials now say there’s no indication of a terror link. The motive, however, remains a mystery. “It’s too early to speculate,” said Superintendent John Loveless of British Transport Police.

For those on board, the haunting sound of screams and fear will linger far longer than the flashing blue lights that followed. Some say they’ll never forget the sight — or the thought that it could have been them.
