Every parent dreams of picking the perfect name.
But for Amy Schumer, that dream came with a hilarious twist she never saw coming.
The comedian and her husband, Chris Fischer, welcomed their baby boy with love and laughter — naming him Gene Attell Fischer, in honor of a close friend, comedian Dave Attell. But soon after, fans gently pointed out something she had completely missed: when said aloud, the name sounded a lot like a… private part.

“I can’t believe we didn’t hear it sooner!” Amy later laughed on her podcast. “We accidentally named our son g**ital!*”
The couple quickly changed his middle name to David, a choice that still carried meaning — it honors both Dave Attell and Amy’s father, Gordon David Schumer.
Now little Gene David Fischer is growing fast, making his mom laugh every day — even hailing pretend taxis on camera. “Being his mom is heaven on earth,” Amy shared. “Your heart feels like it’s outside your body.”

It’s a reminder that even life’s funniest mistakes can turn into the sweetest memories — and sometimes, laughter really is the best kind of love. ❤️
