It’s the question that kept many parents awake at night: What’s riskier — the jab or the virus itself?
Now, new British research has finally offered some clarity — and perhaps a bit of peace of mind.
Scientists studied the health records of nearly 14 million children. Their finding was both surprising and reassuring: kids who received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine had a much lower risk of heart inflammation than those who caught Covid.

In fact, the difference was striking — infection caused around 2.24 extra heart cases per 100,000 children, while vaccination led to only 0.85. “After Covid, the heart risk was up to fifteen times higher,” said Professor Angela Wood from Cambridge.
Parents know this choice hasn’t been easy. “We just want to make the safest decision for our kids,” one mother said — a sentiment shared by many during the pandemic.
The study, published in The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health, now supports the continued use of child vaccines to prevent more serious complications from Covid itself.

Because when it comes to protecting young hearts, this research suggests the greater danger may have always been the virus — not the vaccine.
