When life in London became too expensive, Beck, a single mom and former interior designer, decided to do something bold.
Instead of paying nearly £800 a month for a tiny room, she packed up her belongings — and her young son — and moved into a converted Ford Transit van.

Today, she calls the road her home. “My outgoings are so small now,” Beck says proudly. “I don’t know how single parents manage with rent these days. This gives me freedom.”

Her van, which she affectionately calls their “tiny home on wheels,” has everything they need — a small kitchen, a fridge, solar panels, and even a cozy space she calls “the garage.” Her son has his own little area too, separated by a curtain she made from an old tablecloth. “It’s simple, but it’s ours,” she says.

Beck shares her van life online, inspiring thousands who dream of living freely. “I don’t need much money to be happy,” she adds. “I’d rather make memories than pay for walls.”
