When you’ve built a lifetime with someone, you never expect them to start living a double life at 70.
That’s the painful reality for “Julie,” a woman who recently called into This Morning’s Dear Deidre segment to share her story. After nearly five decades of marriage, her husband has begun vanishing — often on Wednesday nights — without a word.

“I just come home, there’s no note, nothing. Passport gone. Clothes gone,” she said, her voice breaking.
Julie told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that her husband not only disappears but also sends hundreds of pounds to Thailand every month. When she asks where the money goes, he coldly tells her it’s “none of her business.”
The couple has been married for 48 years — a lifetime of shared memories, bills, and quiet routines. But now, Julie says, she feels like a stranger in her own home. “I’m 70 now,” she admitted softly. “I just don’t know what to do. I keep thinking… how long have I got left?”
Relationship expert Deidre Sanders didn’t mince words. “What your husband is doing is appalling,” she said. “You shouldn’t put up with this.” Even Phillip called it out bluntly: “He’s got someone else. That’s obvious.”
Across social media, viewers rallied around Julie. Many urged her to “change the locks” and “see a solicitor.” Others simply offered compassion — heartbreak mixed with outrage.
After nearly half a century of loyalty, Julie’s story is a stark reminder that betrayal hurts at any age — but self-respect never expires.
