Vera Dijkmans, a London-based influencer with more than seven million followers, has revealed why her recent search for a partner ended without success. She invited men to apply to be her boyfriend through a questionnaire on TikTok and received an astonishing 5,000 responses. Yet after reviewing every application, she found that only three men met her expectations.
Dijkmans said she approached the process with clear standards, hoping it would help her understand who might be a good match. She went on dates with the three finalists but ultimately chose to remain single. Even so, she considers the experience worthwhile because it allowed her to be open about her needs and see how many applicants aligned with them.

She also came across several unusual submissions. One man offered to send her a sample of his blood and asked for hers in return, which she ignored. Another unexpected message came from a well-known figure, though she declined to name him. She joked that many applicants were from Texas and an unusually large number were Aquarius.
Her questionnaire asked practical and personal questions, including whether the applicant had a full-time job, lived with parents, owned a working car, or maintained casual relationships. She also asked about lifestyle preferences, such as sharing closet space or opinions on music and shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender.

For now, Dijkmans says she is pausing her search. She may try again in the future but suspects a real-life event would work better than an online form. She adds that she would rather stay single than settle and will wait for someone who meets her standards.
