A tragic incident in Turkey has left a community in shock after a 15-year-old apprentice died from a cruel workplace “prank.” The boy, Muhammed Kendirci, was attacked while working in a wood workshop. Two coworkers tied his hands, pulled down his trousers, and forced a high-pressure air hose into his rectum. The blast of air instantly ruptured his intestines.

The incident happened on November 14 in Bozova, Sanliurfa. Muhammed was rushed to several hospitals as doctors struggled to save his life. Despite intensive treatment and multiple transfers, the severe internal damage was too much. After five days in critical care, he passed away.

Police launched an investigation immediately. One coworker, Habip Aksoy, was taken into custody. Although he was briefly released under judicial control, a later appeal overturned that decision. A new arrest warrant was issued, and he is now being held while the case continues.

Tragically, this isn’t the first time a high-pressure air hose has been used in similar “pranks.” Teenagers in Brazil and India have died after coworkers inserted air hoses into their bodies, causing deadly internal injuries. In some cases, the attackers claimed it was only a joke, but courts ruled these actions were serious crimes.

Experts have repeatedly warned that compressed air is extremely dangerous when directed at the body. Even a short burst can destroy organs and cause instant trauma. Muhammed’s death is a devastating reminder that some actions called “pranks” are not harmless—they can take a life.
