Woman spotted ‘chatting on phone’ in 1938 video that ‘proves time travel exists’

Some images from the past can surprise us and make our minds wander. That’s what happened when an old video from the 1930s resurfaced online, showing a young woman who appears to be talking on what looks like a mobile phone. For many viewers, it felt like watching a moment that shouldn’t exist.

The black-and-white clip shows a crowd leaving a factory in 1938. As people walk by, one woman lifts a small object to her ear and seems to speak into it. The strange scene quickly sparked theories about time travel and secret technology.

The turning point came when a YouTuber claimed the woman was their aunt, Gertrude Jones. They said she once explained that workers at the factory had been asked to test early “wireless phones” as part of an experiment. According to the story, scientists stood nearby with matching devices.

While the claim has never been fully proven, many agree it sounds more believable than a visit from the future. Still, the internet loves a mystery, and the video has fueled speculation for years.

Another old piece of art also stirred curiosity. An 1860 painting shows a young woman holding something that looks surprisingly like a smartphone. Modern viewers couldn’t help but compare it to someone checking social media.

Whether these moments are simple coincidences or something more, they remind us how easily the past can spark wonder. And sometimes, a little mystery is what keeps history feeling alive.
