Simon Cowell has revealed the unusual wellness treatment he believes is helping him stay youthful — a process he describes as “washing” his own blood.
The 66-year-old TV personality, known for discovering talent and shaping major music acts, recently shared that he has been visiting a wellness clinic for a specialized procedure. According to Cowell, the treatment involves removing his blood, filtering it, and then returning it to his body. He told The Sun that the process, combined with a healthier lifestyle, has made him feel younger and more energetic. “I’ve actually aged backwards,” he said, noting that better eating habits, regular exercise, and supplements have made a difference.

The therapy he described resembles apheresis, a medical technique similar to dialysis. During a session, blood is drawn through one needle, passed through a machine that filters out certain substances, and then returned through another needle. A single appointment can take several hours and cost as much as £10,000. While some claim it removes impurities such as microplastics or heavy metals, experts say there is little scientific evidence supporting its anti-aging benefits.
Cowell isn’t the only celebrity experimenting with the trend. Actor Orlando Bloom has spoken about using a similar treatment to reduce microplastics in his body.
Cowell also admitted he once considered taking anti-aging efforts even further by signing up for cryopreservation — freezing the body shortly after death in hopes of future revival. He later changed his mind after learning what the process realistically involves.

This isn’t the first time he has discussed his attempts to maintain a youthful appearance. In 2022, Cowell admitted he went too far with cosmetic fillers and eventually chose to stop all injectables. After seeing photos of himself that he no longer recognized, he decided it was time to return to a more natural look.
