Ariana Grande speaks out after comments about her body during Wicked press tour

Ariana Grande has spoken out again about the constant remarks made about her body, this time while promoting her latest film, Wicked: For Good. The singer and actor has dealt with public scrutiny for years, and she used her Instagram stories over the weekend to remind fans how she handles it.

On November 29, Grande reshared a clip from an interview she did during the press tour for the first Wicked movie. Sitting alongside co-star Cynthia Erivo, she discussed how comments about her appearance have followed her since she was a teenager in the industry.

In the reposted interview, Grande compared her experience to living “in a petri dish,” saying she has faced constant and often contradictory criticism. She explained that no matter what she does, someone finds fault, and that cycle can take a toll. “I’ve heard every version of what people think is wrong with me,” she said, adding that changing one thing only invites new comments.

Grande noted that while her visibility makes the problem worse, unwanted remarks about appearance can hurt anyone. She said it is difficult to block out that kind of attention, regardless of how famous or private a person may be. What has helped her, she shared, is leaning on a strong support system and developing a healthier sense of self-worth.

The performer has discussed this issue before, including in a November interview with The New York Times, where she reflected on how she has learned to separate public criticism from her creativity. Grande said she now feels more connected to her work than ever and has given herself permission to ignore outside noise. Her message to fans was a gentle reminder to be mindful about how they speak about others’ bodies.
