Cher, 79, is set to ‘tie the knot with her boyfriend Alexander Edwards, 39, ahead of her landmark birthday’

Cher may be preparing for a major celebration next spring, and it appears love is at the center of it. The legendary performer, now 79, is reportedly planning to marry her partner, Alexander “AE” Edwards, before she turns 80 in May. The couple has been together for three years, and friends say she feels ready to take this next step.

According to those close to her, Cher hopes to walk down the aisle around her milestone birthday. They say she sees the occasion as the ideal moment to affirm their commitment. Moreover, she pays little attention to their age difference, which has sparked plenty of public discussion. Instead, she focuses on how happy the relationship makes her.

Recently, she spoke warmly about Alexander during an interview on CBS Mornings. She shared that, despite getting older, she feels as spirited as ever. She called him talented, kind, and a joy to be around. Online criticism, she added, means little to her. What matters is the life they share.

Cher also enjoys time with Alexander’s young son, whom she describes as bright and funny. Their blended life includes glamorous outings, lively social moments, and a shared love of fashion.

Her past relationships, including marriages to Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, were often turbulent. Yet, despite earlier challenges, Cher seems determined to embrace this new chapter with optimism.

If the reports are true, her 80th birthday may bring more than a celebration. It may bring a wedding as well.
