I’m ditching Britain for Dubai to find a new man – I’ve exhausted the UK’s entire dating pool of eligible singletons

A 30-year-old mother from London says she is ready to leave the UK behind and start a new life in Dubai, after deciding she has run out of suitable dating options at home.

Jodie Weston, a DJ and model, explained that several frustrations pushed her toward this decision. The rising cost of renting in London, worries about the UK economy, and a lack of promising partners all played a part. Moreover, she believes Dubai may offer both a fresh start and more opportunities.

Jodie, known for her love of travel and generous spending on holidays for herself and her young son, says dating in Britain has become discouraging. “I keep meeting men who already know half my friends,” she said. “I want someone ambitious, polite and confident. Dubai seems full of men who fit that description.”

Her past dating experiences have been far from ideal. For example, one suitor leaned so close during dinner that he toppled off his chair. Another invited her to a film, only for his wife to confront them afterward. A third arrived at her flat with a Chihuahua as a gift and became aggressive when she declined.

Beyond dating, Jodie says London no longer feels practical. She believes she can find a better apartment in Dubai for a fraction of her current rent.

Although she acknowledges cultural differences in the UAE, she feels comfortable adapting. Furthermore, she hopes the move will support her DJ career and give her son a broader view of the world.

Next year, she even plans to “world school” him—introducing him to a new country every month to enrich his education and experiences.
