A quiet Tuesday morning in Hoover, Alabama, turned heartbreaking. Police say they found former WBRC sportscaster Christina Chambers and her husband dead inside their home on December 16, 2025. A relative arrived around 9 a.m., discovered both adults unresponsive, and called for help.

Officers and paramedics responded quickly. However, they could not save them. Police reported gunshot injuries and said they now investigate the case as a possible murder-suicide. A three-year-old child was in the home at the time. Thankfully, the child was unharmed.

Chambers built a career rooted in Alabama sports and local storytelling. She reported across the region, then joined WBRC in 2015 and became a familiar face on Friday-night football coverage. Later, she shifted her focus to teaching and led a high school broadcast journalism program. Her students thrived, and she earned statewide recognition as an advisor. Even then, she stayed close to sports media through freelance work.
