I went on a 2,000-person NUDE cruise – here’s what it was really like aboard the ship

Curiosity often fades once people hear what an experience is really like. That was the case for an older traveler who chose to try a clothing-optional cruise with his wife and later shared what stood out most.

The ship carried about 2,000 passengers and followed standard cruise routines, with one key difference. Once the vessel left port, an announcement signaled when guests could remove their clothes. Before arriving anywhere, everyone dressed again. The goal was comfort, not shock value.

He stressed that the atmosphere was calm and respectful, not sexual. Most guests already had experience with nudist settings. The crowd leaned older, with many people in their fifties through seventies, and a mix of backgrounds and orientations. It felt open and accepting, without pressure.

Crew members remained clothed, and participation was optional. Clear rules were enforced. Phones were rarely seen in public areas, photography of others was not allowed, and staff monitored behavior closely. Guests carried towels to sit on, and clean ones were always available.

Clothing was required in certain dining areas, and many people chose to dress in the evenings anyway. Shoes were generally expected around the ship.

The traveler enjoyed the freedom, the ease of packing, and everyday activities without clothes. Still, he felt once was enough, as there are many other places to explore.

Would you try something once just to satisfy curiosity, even if you never planned to repeat it?
