Mysterious death of dancer, 32, who was found face down just steps from her home – as family demands answers

A Washington family wants answers after police took six days to identify 32-year-old dancer Brittannee Parker. She was found face down in the road outside her home on October 4 after walking her dog.

What happened

A neighbor discovered Parker “bleeding from the head,” “still warm,” with “a slight pulse.” She was taken to the hospital and later died.

Why the family is upset

Relatives say the delay in identification caused unnecessary pain—especially because coworkers reported her missing the day after she died. Her cousin Luke Mann said the family was “outraged” and questioned why police didn’t connect a wellness check request with the body found nearby: “I don’t understand why those two connections weren’t made.”

Call for information

Mann asked the public to help: “Despite the ongoing investigation, there are so many unanswered questions, and we need your help.” He added, “If anyone has any information, no matter how small, we urge you to come forward and help us find justice for Brittanee.”

Investigation and tributes

Police arrived around 7:30 a.m. and initially treated the case as a possible hit-and-run. The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death, and homicide has not been ruled out.
Friends and family shared tributes online. Best friend Krystal Cook wrote, “She had such a genuine spirit, loved deeply, and could light up any room with her big smile and contagious laughter. To say she will be missed is an understatement.”
