Nickelodeon child star hospitalized on Christmas Day after dad broke silence on viral video of him seemingly homeless

A former Nickelodeon child star is now in the hospital after a TikTok video sparked major concern.

The viral clip shows an influencer approaching a man in torn, dirty clothing. The caption reads, “POV: You run into a former child star.” Viewers identified him as Tylor Chase, who played Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.

Soon after the video spread, Chase’s father and local officials reportedly confirmed the situation was serious. They said he has struggled with substance addiction for years. Police in Riverside, California, along with family members, had allegedly offered housing and support more than once, but he refused help.

On Christmas Day, things shifted. After an on-the-street evaluation, specialists determined he needed urgent medical care. He was taken to a local hospital and placed in a 72-hour detox program.

Creator Jake Harris said he was contacted to help with the intervention. He later shared that Chase is receiving treatment and medical attention, and that a crisis team completed a same-day assessment before the hospital admission.

Chase’s family has reportedly spent over a decade trying to find the right support, including addiction treatment and mental health care. They’ve also stressed one key point: real recovery can only happen when the person is ready to accept help.
