White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has revealed she’s pregnant with her second child — and she made the announcement with an unusual twist: a personal thank-you to President Donald Trump.
Leavitt shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of her baby bump beside a Christmas tree. Her caption read: “The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for — baby girl coming in May 2026.”
She also included an ultrasound image and a tiny shirt reading “Baby sis.” Another photo showed her husband, Nicholas Riccio, holding their son, Niko.
In the post, Leavitt wrote that her “heart is overflowing with gratitude to God” for motherhood, calling it “the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.” Then she added a line that caught many followers’ attention: she said she’s “extremely grateful” to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for supporting her and “fostering a pro-family environment” at the White House.
Leavitt welcomed her first child in July 2024. She has previously spoken about the pressures working mothers face — including the constant tug-of-war between career demands and time at home — and described doing everything possible to be present with her son on evenings and weekends.
She closed her announcement with excitement about the year ahead and the chance to become a “girl mom.”
