Jennifer Lawrence recently shared her honest thoughts about filming intimate movie scenes. She explained why she prefers working with strangers over close friends.

The movie features two major sex scenes for the pair. One specific moment is now called the tiger scene.
Filming with Strangers
The 35-year-old actress talked to Josh Horowitz at the 92nd Street Y. She revealed that she and Pattinson filmed the scene on day one.
The two actors did not know each other at that time. However, Lawrence says this made the work much easier. “You know, it’s weirder and so yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable.”
Comparisons to Friends
Lawrence compared the experience to her time on The Hunger Games set. She had to film kissing scenes with her friend Josh Hutcherson.
She described that experience as very strange because they were so close. Meanwhile, doing the same work with a stranger feels less awkward for her.
Awkward Dance Lessons
The stars took interpretive dance lessons before they started filming in Calgary. Lawrence called the dance classes mortifying and very embarrassing.
The actress noted that Pattinson is also a poor dancer. She felt relieved when the director finally asked them to film naked. “Okay, at least it’s not interpretive dance…”
