Queen Latifah and Eboni Nichols have been together for years. Several sources say they met in the early 2000s. Reports say they began dating later and stayed together since. Latifah has posed with Nichols at select industry events.

However, Latifah has long protected her personal life. In a 2008 interview with The New York Times, she addressed speculation directly.
“I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life,”
“You don’t get that part of me. Sorry. We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl. They don’t get it, he doesn’t get it,”
“Nobody gets that. I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”

Still, details surfaced over time. Reports say the pair crossed paths in 2009 on Dancing With the Stars. Both also worked on the 2007 film Hairspray. By 2013, they were often seen together. In 2015, they appeared together at a Bessie screening in Los Angeles.
Later, the couple reportedly welcomed a son, Rebel, in 2019. Latifah once said in a 2008 SF Gate interview,
“I will probably be six months pregnant before anyone knows about it, and I won’t talk about the baby until after it’s born.”

Finally, Latifah acknowledged her family publicly in 2021 at the BET Awards.
“Eboni. My love. Rebel. My love,”
“Peace. Happy Pride.”
