Brooklyn Beckham has spoken publicly about long-standing rumors of a rift with his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham. In a detailed online statement, he said the relationship changed sharply around the time of his wedding to Nicola Peltz.
He claims his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name shortly before the wedding. Brooklyn says he refused, and that decision led to lasting tension and changed how he was treated within the family.
Several allegations relate to the wedding itself. Brooklyn says his mother criticized him over seating arrangements and that relatives told him his future wife was “not family.” He also claims a planned first dance with his wife was interrupted and replaced by a dance with his mother, which he describes as deeply uncomfortable.
Brooklyn further alleges that plans for his mother to design Nicola’s wedding dress were canceled at the last moment, forcing a rushed change. He says his wife has often been treated as an outsider since they married.
According to Brooklyn, attempts to repair the relationship have not worked. He says he and Nicola traveled to London to spend time with his father around a major birthday but were refused private contact unless Nicola was excluded. Brooklyn says he shared his account to explain his side and protect his family.
