The Department of Justice clarified that these files include all public tips, some of which may be “fake or sensationalist.” While some tips were dismissed immediately, others—like the New Jersey claim—did not receive an immediate label of “not credible.” It remains unclear if the FBI ever completed a formal interview regarding this specific case.
Representatives for the Justice Department have labeled the claims against Trump as “unfounded and false.” They argued that if the allegations had merit, they would have surfaced much sooner. Officials emphasized that the document release was handled without bias toward any political figure.
