Donald Trump says he plans to sue Grammys host Trevor Noah after a joke made during the awards ceremony linked him to Jeffrey Epstein. Trump said the comment was false and damaging to his reputation.
During the show, Noah referenced the recent release of additional Epstein-related documents and joked that Trump needed a new island now that Epstein’s was gone. The remark drew laughs from the audience but quickly led to criticism.
Trump responded publicly, stating that he has never visited Epstein’s island and has never been accused of doing so. He said the joke was incorrect and announced legal action against Noah.
Trump’s name appears in the newly released Epstein files, but inclusion does not indicate wrongdoing. Trump and others mentioned in the documents have denied any involvement in criminal activity.
Later, Trump said the documents actually clear him. Officials also rejected the claims, calling them unfounded and saying any credible allegations would have surfaced long ago.
