Michael J. Fox makes heart-wrenching new statement after 30-year battle with Parkinson’s

Michael J. Fox has spoken candidly about how living with Parkinson’s disease has become more challenging after more than 30 years. Diagnosed in the early 1990s, he says the condition now affects nearly every part of his daily life, especially movement and balance.

He explained that his health has continued to decline, leading to frequent falls and injuries. Fox also revealed he underwent spinal surgery after doctors found a tumor on his spine. Although the tumor was not cancerous, it further limited his ability to walk and increased physical strain.

Living with Parkinson’s has made Fox think deeply about mortality. He said that while people do not usually die directly from the disease, they live with it and its complications. Speaking honestly, he shared that he does not expect to reach old age.

Fox described the constant pain caused by tremors and moments when his body freezes and will not respond. Despite this, he says he has learned to endure pain and accept it as part of life, without self-pity.

Although he officially retired from acting in 2021, Fox remains committed to raising awareness and supporting Parkinson’s research. He says that even with ongoing hardship, he still finds more reasons to celebrate life than to mourn it, and he has no intention of giving up.
