Nancy Guthrie, 84, remains missing as investigators continue to follow new leads in southern Arizona. Police recently searched a home in Rio Rico after receiving a tip that she might be there.
The homeowner, identified as Josefina, said officers arrived and conducted a full search of her property. She stated that she cooperated and allowed them inside. According to her, her son-in-law was detained as part of the investigation.
Josefina confirmed that authorities showed her surveillance images connected to Nancy’s disappearance. She said the person in the footage did not look like her son-in-law. She also said investigators removed electronic devices from the home under a search warrant.
Police presence in the neighborhood was heavy, and video footage of the operation quickly spread online. The detained man has not been publicly charged in connection with the case. Officials have not confirmed any suspects.
