Emily Lockley, 26, died just hours after giving birth to her first child, leaving her family in shock.
She was admitted to Royal Stoke University Hospital after going into labor. During delivery, she suddenly collapsed. Doctors performed an emergency procedure and safely delivered her son, Harley. Despite repeated attempts to revive her, Emily died about four hours later. Her family was told a suspected pulmonary aneurysm may have caused her death. An official cause has not yet been confirmed.
Her pregnancy had been described as normal, and relatives said she had no known health problems. Her sudden passing came as a complete surprise.
Baby Harley was born healthy and is now being raised by his father, Tyler Collinson, with support from Emily’s family. They remain focused on caring for the newborn while grieving their loss.
A fundraising campaign was created to support Harley’s future and assist with funeral costs.
Emily is remembered as a young woman who deeply wanted to become a mother. Her family says she was excited about welcoming her son and had looked forward to building a life with him.
