Passenger Recounts Delta Airlines Crash Landing

A Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis to Toronto crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on February 17, flipping upside-down upon impact. The plane carried 76 passengers and four crew members. While 18 people were injured, miraculously, everyone survived.

Moments Before the Crash Passenger John Nelson described the conditions leading up to the crash. “It was a typical flight… but I did notice the winds were super gusty,” he told CNN. “The snow had kinda blown over the runways… it was noticeable that the runways were in kind of a weird condition.”

The Impact and Chaos Nelson recalled, “When we hit, it was super hard… the plane went sideways and flipped over on our back.” After the crash, he noticed “a big fireball on the left side of the plane” and described the scene as “mass chaos.” Passengers, hanging upside-down, struggled to escape as someone yelled, “Get out! Get out! Get out!”

A Miraculous Escape Emergency responders arrived swiftly, evacuating everyone before more of the plane caught fire. “The fact this plane did not explode… is nothing short of a miracle,” one YouTube user commented. Another praised first responders, saying, “Someone give those first responders a raise—they saved lives.”
