Evans shared this news on her new podcast, “Diving in Deep with Sara Evans,” emphasizing that while they are happy now, she doesn’t advocate staying in a harmful relationship. She encourages women to trust their instincts and prioritize their well-being.

The reconciliation follows Barker’s arrest for allegedly attempting to use his car to hit a car Evans was in, leading to a misdemeanor charge. Evans recounted the night of the incident, describing how Barker’s behavior frightened her and their daughter. She had tried to shield her children from his abusive behavior, making the incident especially shocking for her daughter.

After the arrest, Evans stayed close to her children and initially felt ashamed. However, Barker reached out a few months later, and they began talking again, eventually leading to reconciliation. Evans agreed to reconcile under the condition that Barker undergo therapy and marriage counseling. Together, they are working to rebuild their relationship and Barker is striving to regain the trust of Evans’ children.
