Leslie Easterbrook is more than just an actress. Best known as Sgt. Callahan in Police Academy, she has constantly evolved throughout her career.
Born in Nebraska and adopted as a baby, Leslie grew up in a musical household. “It was natural for us to share our love of music with Leslie,” her mother said. She initially pursued opera but found her calling in Hollywood. After a breakthrough role in Laverne & Shirley, Police Academy made her an ’80s icon. “I went for the audition and scared the producer and the director. They backed up in their chairs,” she recalled. To perfect her role, she trained in martial arts, embodying Callahan’s toughness.

Beyond Police Academy, she starred in over 300 TV shows and embraced horror films. “The horror genre intrigues me… but the fans are the most cheerful and delightful people in the world,” she shared.
At 75, Leslie hasn’t officially retired. Whether she returns to acting or not, her legacy remains strong.
