Maren Morris Shows Beyoncè Support After Calling Out Country Genre

Maren Morris backs Beyoncé’s remarks about feeling excluded from country music. Beyoncé’s upcoming album, “Cowboy Carter,” drops on March 29. Her single “Texas Hold ‘Em” hit number one, a first for a black woman on the Billboard Hot Country Chart. Inspired by her hometown, the song has been streamed over 182 million times on Spotify.

Beyoncé expressed gratitude for the support, aiming for a future where artists’ race is irrelevant in genre discussions. She shared that the album stemmed from feeling unwelcome in country music years ago. Maren Morris, herself a country star, supported Beyoncé’s stance, urging change in the genre’s attitude.

Morris, having distanced herself from country’s drama, endorsed Beyoncé’s message. As Beyoncé’s album release nears, anticipation grows for its potential to reshape country music’s landscape.
