Trump Honors Cancer Survivor and Makes Him Secret Service Agent

During his speech to Congress on March 4, President Donald Trump recognized 13-year-old Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a cancer survivor. DJ, diagnosed with brain cancer in 2018 and given only five months to live, has defied the odds. “He has always dreamed of becoming a police officer,” Trump said, recounting DJ’s journey.

DJ, dressed in a police uniform, was celebrated for his resilience. Trump honored him by asking Secret Service Director Sean Curran to make DJ an honorary agent of the United States. Chants of “D-J! D-J!” filled the chamber as DJ proudly held up a Secret Service credential.

Trump also praised law enforcement, advocating for a “mandatory death penalty for anyone who murders a police officer” and honoring efforts to protect children’s health. Additionally, Trump surprised high school senior Jason Hartley with an acceptance to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Hartley, the son of a fallen sheriff’s deputy, was thrilled by the news.
